Townsend Christmas Parade celebrates freedom with patriotic
theme


The City of Townsend held its annual Christmas parade on Sunday, December 6th.  This year’s
theme was “A Patriotic Christmas – Celebrating Our Gift of Freedom.”   Winners of the parade’s
events categories were:

Large Float
•        First place – Bank East
•        Second place – Eden Salon & Spa
•        Third place – Townsend Artisans Guild

Small Float
•        First place – Phillip and Shirley Wiseman
•        Second place – Evan and Jenna Husky
•        Third place – Cades Cove Riding Stables, driver Jerry Cummings

Horse or Pony and Rider
•        First place – Gladys Nicholas
•        Second place – Cassie Tipton
•        Third place – Jessica Russell
