Parents are among the world’s most passionate art collectors, saving their children’s artwork until the walls are filled, and the refrigerator is covered. . But when space runs out, how do you decide what to keep, what to recycle and how to display all of those precious things?

The Valley Voice wants to help. We know there are many creative children here in Wears Valley, and in Sevier County. Every child loves to color, every child is creative.

So from now on we will be showcasing children’s art in the Voice. We hope your children will become involved by submitting their drawings to us. They can draw our beautiful mountains, their Mommy, and Daddy, an animal, or whatever is a positive influence in their life.

We believe this also will validate children’s efforts.  It is a grand thing to see a child’s face when they see their art work in the paper.

As part of their natural process of learning, children tend to be instinctively creative. Drawing or painting can help them to recognize the validity of the creative urge, and give them a solid grounding for later artistic accomplishment. Just as importantly, making art is fun.

Every 2 weeks one will be chosen and printed in the paper.  Please send to
