Goodbye Wears Valley Farms, Hello Wears Valley Produce Barn! Jean Rogers who recently took over as owner /operator of the Produce Barn should be a familiar face to many Wears Valley residents. Jean, who took over operation in May worked with the previous owner for several years where she learned the ins and outs of the business. She has owned a home in the area for many years as well. According to Jean, the name and owners may have changed but you can still expect to find the same large, full line of fresh fruits and vegetables – The pumpkin festival is also definitely still going to happen.
What about BBQ, Boiled Peanuts and live Music?
Yes, Yes and ummm……Yes!!!
Barbeque is being sold on site through a completely different vendor- Neighborhood BBQ also look for fresh squeezed lemonade and kettle corn.
Oh, and the boiled Peanuts are right behind the counter at the produce stand where Jean can keep an expert, watchful eye on things.
Look for live music and or Karaoke every weekend night, with something different every weekend.
In addition to Jean look for Janet Caylor, Garth Allman, and Diana Garter around the barn, keeping things running smooth.
Jean is striving to have as much locally grown produce as possible. She invites all local farmers to bring what they got!
Wears Valley Produce Barn is open from 8am-8pm/ 7 days per week.
